Company with long-time tradition and experience at development and production of pressure-air brake for railway vehicles
The company was established in the year 1816. Originally it was a foundry and later a machine plant.
After 1920 the company went through a radical change. The company was gradually changed from a small forge to a firm ensuring, except castings´ production, also their machining with orientation to supplies for a railway transport.
The die cast of aluminium to metal moulds of great complexity was the characteristic production programme. It is possible to mention castings for engines CZ and JAWA or complicated castings of cars´ carburettors. From here the more famous post-war company’s name KOVOLIS Hedvikov was arisen.
The production and mounting of devices for railway car brake systems was started. During the fifties it was company’s design DAKO. A developing group of designers with own developing test room and train test stand has been established. New brake systems were quickly developed and showed before UIC brake subcommittee.
The great boom was came from 1965 to 1970 when the new plant DAKO in Třemošnice was built up and also the new company’s name KOVOLIS Tremosnice – Hedvikov arise.
In 1980 the company was incorporated to the syndicate ZTS Martin and its production programme was extended about special (military) production. With this branch and with a technology development of the automatization of production processes´ control a positive influence on better working conditions occurred.
During the nineties the company was privatized in long term. It can be mentioned the connection with the company CKD Holding Prague from 1996 to 2002 under name CKD – DAKO plc., Tremosnice. Nowadays the company’s privatization is finished and the current name is DAKO – CZ plc., Tremosnice. Economic results in the period of last eight years place our company to a forefront in the Pardubice region.

1992 - privatization and rise of joint-stock company
1995 - start of development and production of brake systems for trams
1996 - connection with the company CKD Prague Holding, plc.
2002 - finish of privatization, rise of company DAKO-CZ, a.s.
2002 - presentation of new distributor CV1nD before the UIC brake subcommittee
